Favorite poems?
Hey y'all!
I was just curious -- what's your favorite poem, and why? What about it resonates with you?
@agnesisokay it's gonna sound weird, but the minecraft end poem 😅. Something about it just really hits home for me.
"The darkness you fight is within you."
"The light you seek is within you."
"You are not alone"
"You are not separate from every other thing"
"You are the universe tasting itself, talking to itself"
"Everything you need is within you"
"You are stronger than you know"
"And the universe said I love you"
I'm not sure what it is about it, but I've always been comforted by the idea of the universe being so so incredibly vast that my very existence is irrelevant to it, but at the same time, I am a culmination of thousands of years of humanity, my atoms once belonged to stars, I am part of the universe, as is everyone else.
There's something about the poem that feels like a higher being smiling down upon you.
And I know it's just a minecraft poem, but I really like it x
@agnesisokay,
I made this one a year ago.

Will You take me home?
Away from those nightmares who roam
Away from the scariness of their throne
Please, will you take me home?
I mustn't not stay a while
For the breeze, it will catch you vile
Will you take me home?
The fire has started dwindling
I’d best not be caught mingling
Will you take me home?
Oh however so I will bore you
Oh your thoughts of me will be true
Will you take me home?
Oh how tired have I been
My house is just along the bend
Will you take me home?
In truth I must truly tell
You will not think of me well
I beg you take me home
I wish not stay any longer
For the pain I’ve felt is not but somber
Just take me home
Oh how dull my eyes
Oh how heavy is my voice
You must take me home
This weary world puts its weight upon me and it burns
The stares, the glares, I feel no reassurance
Take me home
Oh but perhaps I could stay a little longer
If not what do I but ponder
Take me home
I will just be a burden
All this pain I feel it hurts
Take me home
Oh the scars, the wounds the blisters
All of those looks, that gossip, those whispers
Just take me home
You wish not bear what resentment lies
Of the talking children that spy
I will ask only once more, take me home
The pain I feel, is to great to continue
Wash away my sorrows, until desire nor virtue
Until the blackness of the night
Swallows me up without a fright
TAKE ME HOME
