Read-Thru-Your-Bookshelf Challenge!

If you’re a reader of any kind, you very likely have a stash or backlog of books. Whether it’s a handful, a bookshelf full, or an entire LIBRARY of books, you have books. Hehe

So… This is your mission.

Read through your bookshelf!

This isn’t a “oh no, now I have to do a massive purge of my books… I don’t have time for this”.

Got 10 minutes? Grab a book. Start to read it.

If you like it, keep reading. If you don’t, put it in a donate bag.

One book at a time. Pleasure reading.

Curl up in bed with one, grab a book and cuddle your kitty while you read, take a book to work and read it on your lunch break, and more.

Every time you finish a book (or decide to release one back into the wild, because it’s not “you” anymore), put it into a bag you can easily access. As the bag fills up, give them away <3

Please, consider leaving them in Little Free Libraries, if you have them in your area. There are so many people who can’t afford books… The unhoused, single parents, people who just lost their job, people who aren’t making much money… The list goes on. You could be providing birthday presents to a single mom who can’t afford gifts for her kids. Giving someone a happiness boost and something to do to while away the hours, instead of doing something destructive. Helping someone learn a new skill, which will help them find a better job. <3

A couple of rules… <3

Don’t feel obligated to finish a book if it doesn’t resonate with you, bring you joy, fit who you are anymore. It’s ok to let go of a book and move to the next one <3 Someone else will love it even more than you do! <3

Please don’t put textbooks, old encyclopedias, outdated or time-sensitive type books into Little Free Libraries. Also, if a book is torn, stained, etc, please consider throwing it out. There are many books in the world… It’s ok to let damaged books be recycled into new books! <3
