What was the first thing you thought about when you woke up today?
@zealousGrace5023
The first thing I thought of today was my father and how he should be celebrating his 88th birthday. But he’s not… He gone and that brings me much sorrow. Not just because he’s gone, but because I never got the chance to say goodbye. And I don’t look forward to tomorrow either. Grief and sorrow has encompassed my life for many years. Abandonment, trials and tribulations. When does it cease?
I’ve lost me sense of identity and don’t know who I am anymore. Mother, friend, caregiver, listening ear but who is forcefulFriend? I do not know…
@forcefulFriend4768 First of all, I'm really sorry about your loss. It's so very difficult losing anyone much less a parent. That sense of loss doesn't exactly go away which sucks however it gets slightly easier to bear and you learn to live with it but also find joy what's still present.
Second, I feel as though too much pressure is put on identity. You are one and many things at the same time, out of which, some will change while others remain stagnant. You don't necessarily need to be a specific thing or to have it constantly figured out or for it to be one thing forever.
The first thing I thought of was how sad I was that I had such a triggering trauma dream last night. The second thing I thought of was how I needed to address feeling triggered and move out of that space and into a move positive one. Thankfully, it was just a dream! But the way it made me feel was very real and the flashbacks that resulted were also very real.
I woke feeling sad and just wondering how my life is going to turn out. I’m worried, I am still getting over a heart break and I’m doing things on my own that I never expected, looking to buy a house, travelling alone again. It’s sad! I wanted my life to be with him. He keeps reaching out and saying everything I’d want to hear but I feel so scared to trust him again
