I have been separated for about a year and we finally decided to get a divorce. I am the one that chose to leave in the beginning. My husband stopped coming home at night, spending all of my hard earned money, and never telling the truth. I was the only one working, cleaning, and taking care of our pup. I wanted to be separate to see if maybe he would get a job and get his shit together. thought he would get his act together before he lost me, before I was gone. It turns out he only got worse. He started working but just turned into a complete party bachelor guy. I am so hurt. I really put my all into everything. I think he had an overwhelming sense of failure. I mean I know I had to get away from him to have a life but I am more lonely than ever. I miss him terribly. I never wanted it to come to this. I tried seeing other people like he does. It seems to make it worse. Now I dont feel like doing anything. I feel like Im full on depressed and overthinking all the time. I dont want to go anywhere and see any one. He pretty much knows everyone in this beach town we live in. Now his parents support his apartment, phone, and it wouldnt surprise me if they bought him a car soon too. Hes 35. I mean we couldve done all of this together. I wanted To help him when he only wanted to use me and keep me controlled. I want to move on from all of this as soon as possible but I am so surprised how everything took a turn.

This sounds terrible, and I am sorry you are going through this. It can be very hard to start putting yourself first, after years of putting your needs after another. I'm not sure I have any specific advice as such but going through something similar so I can emphathise. I hope you're able to get a fresh start sometime and maybe somewhere else.
