6 years gone. In need of support.

June 25th, 2017

Hi, I am new to this. I'd like to share my story.

My then-girlfriend of six years broke up with me last May. We were together since the second term of our freshman year in college. We were in the same block. We had just signed to buy a condo last April. I admit; we've been having a rough patch for a while. Real-world realities after college have been taking a toll. We both had just started to work. Talking wasn't the same anymore. I guess the spark just fizzled. It wasn't like I didn't see it coming. I was... I was just hopeful that we'd be okay and push through it, you know? We're both female. My dad has een an absolute ass about it. It's partly why we rushed to buy a condo at 23. We--I wanted freedom from my parents and to be able to live together. No matter how hard I pushed; dad wouldn't budge milimeter. Anyhow. Fast-forward to now. We're both helping the same friend. I find out that she's dating one of our common friends. She's introduced the new girl to her family. They're pictures are on facebook. It hasn't even been three months. According to other friends, the new girl looks like me. I am affected although I have no right to be. It really hurts. To top it off; I'm diagnosed bipolar, and I just lost my job. I am not in a good place. Hence, internet for solstice. Please lend me a shoulder to lean on.
