A broken promise
Once again I have been tossed aside. When people tell you love is beautiful, they forget to tell you it expires. A year and half, yes there was ups and downs, and we was trying to fix them. But it's all been wasted, she decided she couldn't do it anymore, she didn't love me anymore. None of the memories we made together mattered to her anymore. She made a promise to never repeat history, she said she would never stop loving me. But it was all just lies. I don't want to hear those words anymore. I'm tired of trusting them only to be let down. If you're going to claim something or promise something, for the love of God mean it because some people take those claims and promises to heart.

Hey there.
I have had several friends in my life in the last few years that I put in the "best friend" category.
Now I realize that, in life, people will always come and go to a certain extent (more so in friendships).
But, it was hard for me to be told by some of those guys that I was a brother to them, only for that relationship to end up being not-so-sustainable.
Through therapy (for something unrelated), I learned to love myself--even and especially when it felt like no one else was. To this day, it still can be a struggle, but I find self-compassion to be so important for all of us.
Thank you for reaching out. :)
