Advice needed
What do you do when someone lives you without an explanation but you are unable to move on from him and the disappoint because of unresolved financial issues between you? He owes me money ( a substantial amount) that he keeps promising to pay back but failing. It is always one excuse after another that l don't believe anyway( I know him to be a bit of a liar and manipulative). I want to break all contact with him and have my peace but l want my money back too. I've considered involving the police but apparently owing someone money is not a crime. Especially when no contracts were involved.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you. Unfortunately there are plenty of scammers and anyone can fall into a scam, especially those with a good heart.
Someone tried to scam me, and I was willing to give him money. I talked to a friend about it who gave him money. My friend told me that he doesn't expect to get his money back. He just gives out of love.
You probably feel hate for this man right now especially when you're stressed out financially. You've done all you can to get your money back legally. It's up to you to accept that you can't rely on him to help you financially, but you can rely on yourself and others to help you build yourself back up.
It's up to you to mentally "give" him what you already gave him because what you give will be given back to you by someone else.
