Alone

I feel like I’m alone, my husband doesn’t go out of his way to interact with me. I’m exhausted mentally and emotionally. I’ve talked to him but he thinks I’m saying he’s not enough when I’m just saying I need more of his involvement. The last two years have been a rough patch. We’ve been married since 2017. Everytime I suggest divorce or m.counseling he freaks out and doesn’t think we need to result to that. Sometimes when I feel like I’m being ignored i distance myself and try to find peace to calm my emotions and oddly it makes me feel better this unattached feeling…. Maybe I’m a little codependent but when I finally feel like I’ve let go and I ignore/ distance myself he comes back around and at that point I’m annoyed, disgusted and want nothing to do with him. I know, it may sound like a mind f but what do I need for myself… have a I hit a breaking point where I feel like I don’t need to be with sometime who doesn’t appreciate and respects my time. What do I do. I love him some days and then other days I’m like why did I get married.. but I stay because at times he gives me hope but actions say otherwise

@sensibleHemlock7611

Thank you for sharing. I am now personally working up to telling my wife that I want to separate. That is where I'm coming from. I've been married for 15+ years. What has led me to my point is realising that right now, after everything, I would rather be alone than be together with her. I strongly believe that we cannot change others, and nor should we count on it. So, from where I see things now … think about would you rather be alone or with your husband as he is now. If you would rather be alone, do you want to wait 15 years like i did, or act sooner? These are your questions, but there are some ways that I have felt helpful to think about them.

I know that it is difficult, and I am glad to see your thoughtfulness. I believe in you. Best wishes.
