So Ive been dating my boyfriend for 8 months now and were getting pretty serious but I dont know if I can stay in this relationship any longer. we just have certain beliefs that he and I cant give up. Also the fact that no matter how nice and good of a person His father is, he posts, shares, and says some pretty horrible things. That I just cant look over and he doesnt even speak up about. Even if he is his father. Were just different in certain things that seem so little to him but are so big to me... The whole thing about Mexicans bring violence, rape, and drugs into the US and about illegal immigrants... LGBTQ topics. For god sakes, hes your pansexual and they both cant see some of the stuff his dad shares bushes back our community. All my bf does is comment eh or Im for the gays but this is too much etc etc this last post about Michelle Obama where his dad says but she hasnt got the surgery yet and all my bf commented was eh, like hes dating a trans girl and he seriously doesnt step up and say something about thats rude or something.... our views are so different with the lgbtq community, sex workers, porn actors, woman freeing the nipple, and him having me say my body belongs to you just to make him feel better is something Im really not okay with... Everytime we argue and he thinks Im breaking up with him, he say Im giving up when Im not, I love him but these issues arent so little that I can just keep overlooking them, right?

"my body belongs to you" concerns me. Be careful. Your body is yours and he has no right over it. Full stop. He can't do what he wants with your body, in no occasion, even if he's your boyfriend. If you don't feel like it, he has to stay put.

Also, he may respect you, but if you don't FEEL respected, accepting this for the sake of your relationship for months and years can lead you to internalize the lack of respect, it starts to feel normal and you might subconsciously "adjust" your beliefs over your self worth and your boundaries. I don't know if it's clear. This is an issue that you should find a way to fix, if it can't be fixed, I'm afraid the relationship might become hurtful for you

@SunnyDee15

I agree with @GhostlyLilian. The situation doesn't sound healthy. Your body is your own and nobody should belittle your feelings and what's most important to you.
