Breakup
Hi! I joined yesterday the community. Honestly, I am quite reserved but I wish to make a step and share a bit of my story. Almost a month ago, I ended a relationship still in loved and hopeful. Is still hard for me, I get sad when songs are played in the radio or when I simply see him. After all, he is my childhood friend and we lived very near by. Simply, I love him deeply. However, after two years in a relationship, I started to feel unhappy, insecure and overwhelmed in the relationship. I felt I was the only trying to hold it together while he stop caring. At the end, it was ripping me apart. The more I think about it, maybe he even felt relieved it ended. All I know is that it broke my heart in pieces, I missed him and still hope something good will happened. After many days pass, I slowly started to reflect and see things differently. I was able to accomplish this with the help of a listener. I learned that you may never stop loving that person and is ok. Time will definitely take the pain and slowly fade it away. I also learned that in order for that to happen, you have to be able to accept the reality of those decisions.
Thank you for sharing this amazing piece with us here and it made me reflect on breakups in general as well.
