Breakup due to Parents
Hello listeners!
Thank you for being here to listen. I met my girlfriend on facebook 2 years back, after a month of friendship, our friendship changed to love. We are in love and met a lot of times now from past 2 years. Her parents are not interested in our relationship because of the distance between us. Her parents want her to marry someone in their neighbourhoodand she also go along them when they have some celebrations etc. I told her many time not to go there because their parents will think she is interested in them, but she says that she can't deny her parents. Now what should I do? Should I end this relationship or should continue? How to continue in this situation? I know it will be too much difficult for me to forget about her.
@Sherani I'm sorry to hear about this and what your going through I suggest you and her should have a long talk about you both cause you can't be an outsider and if she can't stand up to her parents seems maybe her feelings for you aren't strong enough if she really loves you a lot she'll stand up to her parents and say NO I'm in love with someone else and him and I are dating what's going to happen if your dating her and she accepts what her parents organize and ends up with someone else she's going to be dating 2 guys your going to be that Other guy you don't want that for your self being treated like that being called other guy and basically being an outsider if she really loves you she wouldn't have gone to met the guy her parents set her up with do what's right for you you have to think about yourself if you call if off it won't hurt you as much as it would when she turns around and says I'm dating that guy now you and I can't be together sorry and goodbye that's going to cut you deeply and make you hurt a lot longer then calling it off now its up to you but save yourself all that pain and suffering in the long run you need to think about your self and your needs take care of you all the best and good luck you need to decide what's best for both of you
@Sherani Sounds to me like you will have to decide what you are willing to put up with and you will have to figure out what you won't accept. From what you say, it seems like her parents have a huge influence in her life and that is something that won't change anytime soon. If you are able to accept that and live with it, than you should continue your relationship with her. However, if you personally feel as if that is something you can't take anymore than you may need to end the relationship. That is completely up to you and is something you will have to take some time to think over. I know it's hard, but in order for you to truly be happy, than you may need to consider that there is someone else out there for you who can give you what you need. I'm sorry you have to go through this though, and I wish you the best of luck. Please feel free to message me if you ever need to talk.
@Sherani
Hello Sherani,
This is pretty complicated. I think the answer to this question however, is within yourself. You know what you are willing to accept and what you aren't. If you are okay with the relationship and the fact that her parents have a lot of influence over her and her decisions, then I think you should be fine. However, because it seems to be bothering you, you need to figure out whether you want continue on this relationship or not and most importantly, you need to figure out what you're okay with and what you will accept. This decision is entirely up to you and I don't think there is any wrong answer, it just depends on you. I hope everything works out, whatever you decide :)
