Broken hearts

I'm separated living on my own, and my wife she is living on her own. We have filed for a divorce, but she hasn't signed the finalized divorce papers, yet.

She texted me on Valentines day, with our picture from last year. Instead of professing her love, she goes on a rant and blames me for leaving and not truely loving her. I had to ghost her after several texts. It was just too heated. But it was her largely blaming me, and not proving solutions to ways to fix things. Just wanted to fight again. She provides nothing about her faults, just blames me for everything. While she fights she wants me to apologize for screwing up her life.

The crux of the matter is I broke up with her on the basis of therapy wasnt working, I wanted kids and she wanted to wait for career , greencard , travel to her country. I broke our agreement we had before our marriage because I wanted kids sooner due to being older. She didn't want kids as soon as I did. Honestly, the arguments between us just got worse and I didn't feel respected while paying all bills, felt trapped in the apartment that I paid for a while she runs an emotional show every single day. Most of our arguments I feel like I'm the one trying to push for her to calm down, take breaks, find solutions , just not fight which leads to her crying. I didn't want that to continue so I had to leave that was five months ago.

Deep down. I do have some love for her. But being with her was a huge risk for me that she doesn't see.

In two days would have been our 1 year anniversary but we didn't make it. A little heart breaking. Part of me is down and part of me likes this freedom.

Any advice would be helpful..

@echu6785 I'm so sorry you are going through this, echu. As you know, listeners are not in the business of giving advice, but I can offer up a personal opinion. I think she might be processing her loss, which is a grieving process. There are stages of grief (denial and isolation, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance). Sounds like maybe she is going through the anger stage right now. It's normal to feel lots of different emotions after a breakup, and none of them are easy to get through. Hang in there.
