Broken to pieces
Why does it hurt so much?
You build an entire life around this person and come to realize ....maybe that was the mistake.
Moving on from someone who can't stop thinking about is the toughest feeling.
2 years of only saying his name and everything I did was somewhere involving him....
But here I am stranded and feeling lost.
Agreed, that I made mistakes and kept being clingy. But is this what punishment feels like...
What happens when someone forgets the feelings of love that we had...do we just forget that.
The anxiety of not knowing what to do here on is the worst. It feels as though someone is choking you and you have no space to breath when I think of what I lost.
It feels like someone punched you to the guys and said...it's okay, let it go now....
Feels like I am broken to pieces

I'm sorry for what you've gone through. It hurts when the love you gave wasn't received in equal measure. It hurts even more when everything shared is robbed from you and it seems like all is lost. But I hear you
. I don't know you but I feel your pain. I sincerely hope one day you'll find the courage to pick yourself up from the past. You are worth it ![]()

I feel you for sure. I had a two year thing end just a week ago. She found someone else and had the relationship I thought we were building together with him instead.
We texted EVERY day, multiple times per day. I told her often how loved she was, how amazing. I may have went a bit clingy, but she was having a lot of things going on in life and I was just trying to show extra support.
I thought we had a future. We talked about it even. Both our lives were messy but we were working it out. We saved each other. She just didnt want me anymore..
It has been terrible to process. I still dont know fully what is going on, Im in a fog most days. I feel the need to really work on myself now, but the pain is so amazingly great, and empty at the same time.
Just wanted to say I feel and know what you are going through. It sucks, but we can all support each other.
I am sorry you have to go through this. It isn't easy especially, when you felt that you only were trying to love them a little more and go out of your way to make them happy. In the end, they only see that as a hindrance in their life.
I totally get that feeling of your mind being a fog.
You can't think straight and the worst is when you have gaps at work. The tiny breaks when your mind wanders to those repeated thoughts of them and feeling anxious to have lost a part of you.
You go about doing stuff and yet you go back and keep checking if you have got a message or a missed a call. It's the worst.
I totally understand that it isn't to distract yourself and build yourself when it's too heavy a weight to carry. People keep saying take that first step and move on....it isn't that easy.
Everything reminds you of them. It hurts and I know that we are on the same boat. At different time zones but feeling the same emptiness.
I want to say we will get through this...but that's a scary and uncertain thing to say...
@brightDime2773
Thank you. And yes, we will get through it. Mornings are the worst for me. I can at least eat and sleep through the night again.. but then the morning hits and I know I wont get that little good morning text we shared daily (didn't live together). And everything unravels from there.
I too look at my phone and email, just in case I missed hearing the sound, if Im driving, I look at each stoplight. I get excited when I get a text, but then its always just a co-worker.
I tell myself it just wasnt the right place and time for us, if life circumstances were different and allowed us to spend more time together.. I think we would have made it. But, maybe we would not have met either.
I look back and can say we had an amazing year+. That I wouldnt trade for the world. The pain, as great as it is now, still does not take away from the love that was shared. The memories that were made. Even if she lost those feelings and didnt know how to tell me.
Its the future that feels so dark. Its just taking it one day at a time, because I can't see the light ahead without them. Not yet anyhow. I can talk a big game to my friends about working on myself, etc.. but in side im lost and so alone. Scared? Maybe.. unsure how to really move on with anything? Very.

It's as though I am talking to myself when I hear you speak. The mornings are the worst, waking up with anxiety and dealing with it.
I feel you, the feeling of receiving a text and ends up being about work. You start to dislike the music you shared. Imagine I can't look at dogs without tearing up.
You keep thinking maybe things would be better and maybe even different. But maybe the difference now is that they aren't with you anymore.
I totally agree, the pain and hurt that we go through now, doesn't take the love we shared. It is in our memories that we can totally be free. And stop ourselves from pondering upon the "what ifs?"
The future is too bleak. Quite scary actually.
I hope we get better and hope that one day we have the strength to say that I got through that.
I hate the night since that's the time when we would talk about our day, how it went and the plans for the future.
I know how it feels to be totally broken and picking your heart pieces one after another.
I’m feeling the same way as you :(
i recently broke up with my bf and I’m still so attached to him, I feel lost and really anxious now that it’s over
I hope you are feeling better
Seems like there are too many on the same boat.
It is really tough and difficult to get over when you spend a lot of time with them.
Feeling anxious is now become a habit. The lack of not knowing why it ended or not accepting that it ended is the toughest.
I am reeling slowly from it. But some days are worse than others.
Hope you are holding up better.
There are far too many of us out there for sure. Not just people that broke up, but the ones that didn't see it coming, had no idea, had no chance to talk, work things out.
Relationships that had no arguements, anger, abuse, etc. Why did they suddenly end? Why did the other person move on so fast? Why were we worth so little at the end, when somewhere in there, we were worth so much?
It is a terrible pain, and lonliness. This morning was hard for me, but something happened around noon. I dont know why, or how. Some part of me said.. its ok.
I thought about it. I said out loud, that I miss her. That I love her still very much. That what we had is clearly over. It was magical while we had it. But, its OK. I didn't cry. It's been 2 weeks and a day.
It's been an eternity of suffering, and yet feels like only yesterday I was giving her a hug and seeing her smile at me. Time is still flowing strange for me.
I don't know what my 'OK' feeling means, but I wanted to bring it to you all with hope. Hope that at some point, things start to be.. OK. Even if you still hurt inside, miss them dearly, and love them unconditionally. Somehow.. it'll be OK.
@purpleSail7825 This is so nice - I'm glad you're feeling better today :)
