Broke up because he cheated
I've decided to leave my ex because when we had arguments he secretly went out to meet his ex date for companionship. He claimed to seek ladies' POV on our rs issues. But I feel he has already cheated emotionally. He would pick her from work, send gifts. He sees these actions as nothing wrong.
I am feeling really betrayed. He kept begging me to patch things up but he couldn't give that girl up. So I told him to go and court her and I wish them happiness.

Yes, that is emotional cheating in my opinion too. Picking up from work is ok only if it's emergency. But to send gifts? Really? He could also easily get POV from other people so how special is this ex of his? It's best to leave him instead of staying in a relationship that will bring you anxiety.

Life is very short and I applaud those who move on quickly when the warning signs are there. It is much more likely, than not, that the suspicious behaviors will escalate into bad. These days of uncertainty can in waste turn into weeks, months, and years of the same. This will likely benefit the soon-to-be ex-partner and allow them to consider their future, following a path that allows them to be more unconditionally committed to their next partner.
@Flyingunicornx
You're incredibly brave for doing that, I too would lso be very upset if that happened to me. I think its unacceptable to be giving her private information and sending gifts.

thank you for helping me find the words I've been looking for "emotional cheating". Recently found out that my husband of 30 years has had an inappropriate relationship/"friendship" virtually. He and the female (who it also attached/engaged) claim it was an innocent friendship. The thing is that she slipped and called him babe and when I sent a text to her (from his account) stating "I miss you" she responded "whatever". There was also a history of the one liner checkins like" "Hey" and the response would be "Hey", the sharing of videos. The thing is that the girl states that she was accidently texting him and then I found additional information in his email account where he's been running errands for her. I was able to find out where the girl worked and when I contacted her and threatended to continue searching until I found her fiance/husband so that she could tell him the same stupid story she told me, she suddenly began contacting me with apologetic messages trying to reiterate that they were just friends. the kicker is that this girl is my neighbors relative and even if this was just a friendship, everytime i see my neighbor I am reminded of the EMOTIONAL CHEATING. While I really don't want to walk away from 30 years, my heart doesn't feel as if it's rebounding. It feels like it's trying to hibernate from the pain.
Additional background is that my husband had an affair 15 years ago that we go through. This inappropriate relationship although it comes no where close to the prior infedility, it hurts soooo much worse than the prior incident.
Kind of feel love and hate at the same time right now. I just hurt and I don't deserve it.
Thank you for listening and I think you've made the right decision. Chances are if he's not willing to give up that relationship, their is some type of emotional attachment. In my case, my husband has deleted this woman's contact information in his phone and social media but the thing is because he worked with her cousin and because her family are my neighbors, I'm sure it won't be hard for them to find each other if they really want to.
Going on a tangent here. Just wanted you to know that I admire your strength and believe that you will heal and rebound with a new love who also loves and cherishes you.

We made it to 29-1/2 years of marriage before the trust issues became insurmountable. In this case there was no emotional or physical cheating, however when you no longer have each other's back since you disagree on so many aspects of your relationship, many times it is just not worth the pain of continuing. Now, 3-1/2 years later, it was the best possible decision, with no regrets. It is extremely valuable taking the experience and wisdom from those many years of marriage into to a new loving relationship and putting that one on a much stronger foundation from day one. I wish you both all the best.
