Depressed from separation
My husband and I have been separated since last year March. It is our second separation.
We were trying to work things out and had a disagreement.
My point was that he missed a day of coming over to fix on cars instead of coming over like he said he would.
His point was that he wanted to finish fixing the car and was tired afterwards.
My point was that he could have worked on the car during daylight hours and still came to see me as he said he would.
He looks at as it was one day.
He has missed other days and I did not complain.
My perspective is that I am not a girlfriend nor an afterthought.
He stated that we are not in a marriage; we are separated.
I told him to sign divorce papers so that I know that I am not in a marriage.
We stated other things to include my statement that I have done my best and no longer have guilt.
I am depressed about the situation. I dont understand how he cant see that it is not about the missed day, but about me not being a priority.

My husband and I have been separated since last year March. It is our second separation. (Who initiated the separation? It matters because there will be one party who was convinced that it's not working and the other party wants to still give it some time/energy because they hope to fix it)
We were trying to work things out and had a disagreement.
My point was that he missed a day of coming over to fix on cars instead of coming over like he said he would. (Was his inability to keep his word part of the reasons for separation? In that case it's a known issue and must be treated as such)
His point was that he wanted to finish fixing the car and was tired afterwards. (Sounds like at that moment, fixing the car was more important than fixing the relationship.)
My point was that he could have worked on the car during daylight hours and still came to see me as he said he would. (He already said he was tired. We all have finite energy and time. When it's his time/energy he sets the boundaries for feasible. He chose to put it elsewhere)
He looks at as it was one day.
He has missed other days and I did not complain. (Why did you not complain other days and only this one? What makes this one different)
My perspective is that I am not a girlfriend nor an afterthought.
He stated that we are not in a marriage; we are separated. (This is him letting you know where the relationship stands in priority of his life stuff)
I told him to sign divorce papers so that I know that I am not in a marriage. (A separation is already indication that you've taken several steps away from the marriage. He also told you clearly you are not in a marriage.)
We stated other things to include my statement that I have done my best and no longer have guilt. (What do you feel guilt about?)
I am depressed about the situation. I dont understand how he cant see that it is not about the missed day, but about me not being a priority. (Did you express this to him? That more than the missed day you missed being important to him?)
