Did I make a mistake?
I left my boyfriend of nine months and we are still trying to be friends we left on good terms but i am starting to think I made a mistake. I keep thinking of all the good memories and thinking of him with someone else kills me. But at the same time, I feel like we were losing our connection so I decided to end if but I feel like I shoulve gave more time on trying to fix it. Is thisnormal process of healing? Or did I make a mistake?
@yellowPond7260 Hi. I was told by a therapist that it is normal to be ambivalent about relationships. People “lose connection” in their marriages too. The question is, is it worth it to you to try to reconnect? A relationship doesn’t just happen…it isn’t a self sustaining nuclear reaction that will just go on for five million years. Relationships take care and feeding. And one thing that is almost certain, if you wait long enough he will be with someone else. If you still are thinking about him, if your still friends with him, there is still a connection. If he finds someone else, he will probably still be good friends with you, but he will also be spending much less time with you. And of course, if his new gf feels even a little threatened by you, maybe that time he might have spent with you might drop to zero.
There are two sides to this. First, it was not a mistake if it was truly how you felt at the time you were just being true to you feelings. Second it is possible for you to be feeling differently now and if this is so you need to tell him. To answer your questions, yes you could just be trying to heal. And no it was not a mistake. But it would be a mistake to not tell him how you feel now especially if you are comfortable in your communication with him. Sending good vibes only 💕
