Don't know what to do anymore.
Hi hello, teen here probably should have used the teen forum but this one seems more qctive so... anyways, things have been going not too great with my gf. We startedd about 3 months ago, had known eachother for like 5 months prior and everything was going completely fine. About a month ago she told me things werent really feeling right. I didnt freak out or anything, just tried to get her to elaborate about her feelings (she couldn't) and after the most she could muster up was that she felt she wasn't contributing to the relationship and that she felt like it wouldn't last, I offered a break. We can't see eachother during quarantine anyways so I thought it would help ease the stress off a little bit for the time being. We still haven't gotten off the break, but i did ask her if it would be ok for me to talk to her during it, which she was fine with. We've been talking a little bit here and there mostly about music and whatever we're up to, but recently shes been ghosting me. Shes acting completely on social media, in group chats with her friends that im in, she just wont wont respond to a single message i send her. I cant cant imagine ive done anything wrong at this point. I havent even tried to get back with her yet. So basically ive been asking myself; was she ever interested in me from the start? Does she just want to get rid of me without facing it with maturity? She seemed really in love with me at the start so i really just don't know whats going on.
@frodinir
Hi Frodinir; I'm glad you're still trying to stay friends with her and maintain a relationship. It's not healthy behaviour to put yourself down though; her feelings are out of your control and you have done everything you could to maintain a relationship with her. It's possible for partners to 'fall out of love with each other' and reasons range from new things they've discovered about themselves (maturity etc) to just not feeling a romantic relationship (compared to a friendship). If you've done all you can to maintain contact with her, and she isn't responding, there's no use in continuing to bombard her with texts/calls etc. Giving her that space may allow her to realize your value and how respectable you are. You will be showing her that you have standards and 'communicate' that you have expectations too! Even if you two get back together, think about how you'd feel if you had to keep dealing with this sort of 'ghosting' behaviour; would it be fair for you? You deserves someone who gives you the attention you give them, and doesn't make you wonder why you were left on read, open, or ignored.
@SamSter28 Thanks a bunch for the reply. I guess space is the best thing I can do and I'll have to give it to her for now. Not having closure is the worst part though :/
@frodinir
I'm glad I could help! And for sure; it's hard to take a step away from someone you care about no matter the relationship. You never know; perhaps you will get to speak more about what's happened after giving some space and slowly reconnecting. I wish you the best!
