For better or for worse?
I just broke up with my toxic bf after being together for over a year. Most of the time he made me miserable, so why does part of me still wanna go back?
One thing about abusers is most times they do it in a way to make sure that you still feel love for them or find a way to trick you into thinking that whatever took place was your fault. So even though you know its the best possible choice your brain is tricked and longs for the little bits of attention and love that you did get. Just stay true and steer clear from it. Life is to short to live a single day feeling used and abused, suround yourself with good people and enjoy every bit you can and one day you will find someone that you don't mind being around with everyday and when you speak your listend to.

Perhaps although you broke up with him for toxic reasons, there were parts and times you did enjoy his company. However, just because you had some good times with that person doesn't mean it necessarily outweighs the damage and negativity he has done overall. Hope you stay strong!
@deadonarrival606 i am sorry

Sometimes we might think to ourselves “Is it worse to be completely miserable with someone else; or to be miserable alone?
Perhaps it’s not so much that you miss him specifically, but that you feel there’s something ‘missing’ inside you that you fill with the company of other people. He represents something ‘familiar’ which is what people commonly might reach for when they feel lonely or anxious, like cigarettes even though we know they cause cancer. It’s more emotional and habitual then ‘rational’ …
