Getting over an ex
Hey there, just looking for tips to get over an ex.
Our relationship was too perfect for the first few month and I was head over heels for this girl.. as we got closer to a year together though, she began to become very critical and mean, even hitting me in the face on a few occasions.
I finally broke it off with her for the last time over the summer but I still think about her almost daily, because during the good times, she was so sweet and beautiful.
I’m just here for some tips and ideas to keep her from consuming my thoughts because I’ll go through cycles of sadness and anger multiple times a week.
@Bluestreak387,
doing mindfulness helps me.
I focus on my breathing. Take a deep relaxed breathe, pay attention only to that and keep doing so. Until you feel yourself ease down and the thoughts no longer taking over. Keep doing this, even if you are feeling fine.
You split up for a reason. Nobody is perfect but there are boundaries for everyone, the ones that should not be crossed, no matter what.
She did what she did, for whatever reason. Same goes for you. Sometimes we get triggered and/or we trigger each other and we look outside ourselves, blaming the other, getting angry. While it is you that got triggered.
Look in your heart, ask your self "am I true self, do I act on thoughts or do I act on being"?
Use this experience to be more you.
I’m so sorry to hear that she would hit you, no one deserves that.
i am also struggling with moving forward. I was in a relationship with who I thought was my forever. We spoke about our future all of the time. And we really loved eachother but he made a mistake and cheated. Which broke me completely.
he is doing anything he can for me to forgive but I had to leave. It doesn’t mean it’s easy though.
I am not sure if it will be a feeling that’s passes or maybe when you meet the right person you’ll just know,
if it’s for you it won’t go by you.
