Help...2 years Relationship
Hi, my name is martin and my girlfriend/wife broke it off. We had been living together for 2 years, she already had a son (age 13). I absolutely love him, we were like best friends. She is 6 years older than me, im 24. Her husband used to beat her. She had been seperated for 5 years and i helped her get the divorce because i wanted to marry her.
My family never liked her, they also heard rumors around town she was a slut. I even heard some myself, but i never believed it because i was in love with her. One time she left to the club alone and i forgave her.
She eventually left me because of my family. She said it was a living hell with them and that we would never be happy. I left the house but we kept talking and seeing eachother, we had made plans to move an hour an a half from where we lived. She had found a job and a house all i needed was to find a job myself. Just last week she told me that things changed. That she was leaving on her own and to forget about her. Just yesterday i found out she had been seeing another guy for almos a month.
Im completely devastated, my appetite is gone all i do is work and cry myself to sleep every night. I had a life with her i love her son as my own, we had plans to get married. How do you get over a relationship that lasted 2 years and thay i saw her as my wife. It feels like ill never be happy again. All of the 2 years keep playing in my head over and over again. I would give my life for her. I still gotta go see her to get all of my stuff back.
Hi there.
I'm so sorry to hear about your heartbreak. Break ups are one of the most painful things to experience in life. It's a huge loss of everything you felt comfortable in and forces you to change your entire world. Everything you mentioned about loss of appetite and excessive crying is normal when dealing with a break up/broken heart. I know that doesn't make it easer and I am genuinely sorry that you're hurting this bad. It sounds like towards the end you both had different expectations about how the future was going to play out.
Please know that because she ended your relationship with her doesn't necessarily mean that your relationship with her son needs to change. I don't know your situation so I can't advise you how to move forward but no matter what happens with your ex, you have developed a relationship with this child. I'm unsure what is "normal" in this situation, but it sounds like losing this relationship with the child is not something you want. If I'm correct in that, it might be worth considering options to keep that relationship strong regardless of what happens with his mum.
We're all here to support you through the dark times while you find your footing again on your own. The healing process can take longer than you're hoping so it's important that you're nice to yourself. Reach out to the community when you're down and keep your head up. I thank you with all my heart for your advice, the relationship her son is something i never want to lose. As i said, i love her son i saw him as my own i actually felt like a father for the first time with him. The only thing is that how would i handle seeing his mom with someone new.
We are talking about a girl that only 4 weeks ago told me that she still loved me and called me her love, and slept together. IM SO CONFUSED.
