How can I stop loving someone?

I still love my ex even though things ended pretty badly between us. It doesn't help that I also made some mistakes and wonder if I hadn't done that, I wouldn't be in this place now. I have so much regret over it and more as time goes by.
I thought I was over him, but I still remember our memories and sometimes very vividly. I wake up in the morning thinking about him and even little things remind me of him. It also doesn't make it easier that my work is a couple blocks from his place.

I really don't want to spend my life this way...just makes me sad even if one day get married and have kids, I will still have feelings for him. I know everyone says it's normal to still love somone even after years, but I really don't wish to feel this way anymore
