How do you decide to get divorced?
I fucked up. I'm the reason divorce is an option. They don't know it yet, but I've thought about it ever since we got married for various reasons, all of which seem to be problems with myself. They're amazing and it would be a great relationship if not for me and my mistakes. I think I need to bite the bullet and pull the trigger, but how do you make that decision? How do you end something that meaningful with someone for their sake and secondarily yours? Fuck.

I think you need to have some conversations with counselors, both independently and with your partner, to better understand your and their needs in your relationship. How can you decide whether or not the relationship is in your partner's best interest, or really what their best interests are? That should be theirs to decide, including whether or not they see value in a relationship with you.
