How to let go
Hi. It’s only been a month or two since me and my ex split up, but I feel like he’s moved on completely. While I still feel so much pain from it. Ever since we broke up everything in my life has been ruined. I lost all friends, I had to move back home, my car broke down, and I’ve never been this suicidal in my life..everyday I wake up hoping he’ll just say hello to me. I feel pathetic and hopeless. And sometimes I feel like moving on won’t even help me because he was always my safe place for 2 years. The only one who made me feel loved or cared for. I don’t know what to do and I don’t know if this is too much to share...I just really need something to help..
@dumblittlestrawberry it's unfortunate that happens sometimes in relationships two years is a long time to be with someone and for them to just break up Good luck on your future endeavors.
I have been in the same situation, it hurts a lot. But keep your head up. Focus on yourself, make plans for yourself. I for example always wanted to travel with my ex, but I realised how great it can be to travel on my own. You got this! Now it's your time to shine, your time to start loving yourself and work on yourself to be a better version of who you were in that relationship. It always takes time to heal. But soon you will get there :) I was too, very desperate. But your love is worth more to give it to someone who doesn't appreciate it. It really does takes time.
I'm so sorry you're going through that. I have an idea of what you're going through, my ex and I broke up a couple months ago and it has been hell. Missing her and feeling regret is something I'm still struggling with. The only advice I have is to find something you enjoy, a hobby, a passion, whatever that may be (I think someone previously suggested traveling). Doing something you enjoy is a good way to take your mind off it. I honestly don't know what to suggest for healing in the long term, as that's something I'm trying to figure out with my own situation. But know that you are cared for and loved in this community and you can always reach out to any of us on here if you need help or support 😊

Unfortunately, there is no miraculous method of recovering from a breakup. You are probably experiencing a lot of different and strong emotions. You can feel pain. And everything is a mess. And maybe it's so annoying that you'd like to get rid of it. All these emotions are part of healing already. This means that everything that is happening in you now is the process of healing. There is no need to fight or be ashamed of it.
Everything has its time and is gradually changing. Focusing on small steps could help. What is at least a little better than a week ago, for example?
Of course, the process of healing can be partially accelerated, but it is more about changing behavior, what to do and what not to do. Too much effort to change one's emotional experience is not part of it.
It is also an opportunity to get to know yourself and not be afraid of your emotions. And as a result, become more resilient in the future. It's hard, but everything will pass. Nothing is permanent. Stay strong.

I so sorry you feel this way but I have learned that my happiness does not come from others but from within myself. I have also been through some tough times but I have crawled, scraped, learned and conqured many of my fears and sorrows all on my own. I know you have it within yourself to do the same. So you still have feelings for this person who was a safe place in your life. Really you are the safe place and now you can rely on yourself. Feeling sad and missing your ex is normal and valid but you are number one and you can pick yourself up and move on. It will be hard and yes sometimes not easy but if you take one step at a time and deal with one problem at a time then the sun will shine a bit brigher each day and the light will come from within you. You can do this. Don't worry about what you had to do but do what you have to do to take care of YOU! Because you are worth it and you are loved. Remember you are stonger than you think, you are smarter than you realized and you are loved more than you know. Good luck and just take one small step and you will be able to get through this.
