Husband left.... now what?

I have always been a confident, fun, loving person, but I was so wrapped up in my marriage and trying to save it that I seem to have lost myself. Now that he is gone, I don't really know what to do. I come home from work and can't seem to get motivated to do anything. I lay around and cry. How do I "move on"? What does that even look like? I have been asked out but I am not ready for that. I have a lot of support in family and friends, but they all seem to think I am better off without him. I don't know what to feel, what to think, or what to do.... I am just existing... no raison d'etre...

Hello there,

Gosh I'm so sorry you are going through this right now, breakups are terrible things to have to go through, they make us question everything and causes real emotional distress. I don't know your circumstances and I understanding you are hurting right now, and it doesn't make things better, but perhaps in the long run this may workout better for you, and the only reason I say this, is because you deserve you be truly loved and treasured they way you love that person, and should not settle for anything less, never be treated as an option, always expect to be treated like a priority, and never water yourself down because someone can not accept 100% proof of you, you are beautiful, you are strong and you deserve to be happy with the best.

Give it a little time, going through a marriage breakup can really take its toll on you and particularly your confidence, you need time to adjust, time to adapt just being you again, try and set yourself little targets, even if it's only to go out once a week with friends, or arrange a girly night, anything that will make you smile, and appreciate you and who your are, spend time with people who make you feel special, confident, positive and most importantly, who make you smile.

Take good care of you, you beautiful person

It's hard to know what to do after a break up and you find yourself losing interest in things. Talking about it. Recognizing it's okay to feel the way you are and experience full range of emotions and other times just be plain tired. I felt a duality of hibernate and yay now I can go meet new people and try new things. But then it was scary where do you meet others who will understand what you are feeling and respect it. I found a local meet of divorce and separated folks who look out for eachother and plan outings. It helps.

Be kind to yourself and just feel what you need to, the stages of grief and acceptance take time. I. Hope you are finding the support and encouragement you need.
