I
Im at a very low point in my life and I dont know where to turn. Im going through a rough breakup and I dont want things to end. He wants to just focus on himself and be alone we have been friends for 8 years and dated for 4. These past 2 years have been the absolute hardest for us. Just one knock down after another. Therapy. Fighting. Arguing. We broke up in February of this year. My fault. Im scared well never get back together. Were struggling with being good for each other, but we were happy and healthy for a good 2 years out of the 4. I know we can get back to that, but I know hes tired. Im still in love with him, but he said hes not in love anymore, but still loves and cares for me. He answers my calls and texts. We agreed on space for a week and I was fully prepared for it out of hopes that it would help. 2 days later he texts me, drunk, about my song being on the radio. He apologizes for breaking the space and said things were still the same for him. Wanting space. No contact. Not in love. It broke my heart all over again. He says this has nothing to do with me, hes not seeking anyone else, he just wants to be alone. I believe him, partly. Because I know I wasnt the best side of our relationship. I took more than I gave at times, struggled with my sexuality and asked for a break to figure that out. February I thought it was over for me. I said all the same things he is now. Not in love, were not good, maybe some day and I came back. Thats my only hope.
@ambitiousPeach2973 You may have to let him go. Not necessarily because he said he wanted to be alone (although that is one issue) but rather that the both of you need space and time and/or the relationship has reached its natural conclusion and you/both of you are holding onto something that doesn't exist anymore.
Easier said than done, of course. But it really does sound like both of you need time/space to figure yourselves out, individually.
