I am terrified of being alone
My girlfriend broke up with me recently and I feel so alone. I have frequent panic attacks. My friends all are busy with there families. I have a very thin support system.
I spent some time with my family and still felt isolated. Help me out of this. Thank you.
@chartsengrafs Hi Charsten )) Thank you for the post and I will try to give my insight on it.
Loneliness is probably one of the thing most of us are trying to avoid... That is why people get involved with so many different things. So I think you should not feel alone in this. It is normal to feel lonely and to try to avoid it. I will try to give some tips below and hope any can help.
1. Here is a great link from 7cups that offers an exercise series for understanding and overcoming loneliness. https://www.7cups.com/how-to-deal-with-loneliness/
2. I would suggest that you shift your attention to something else. Do you have a hobby? Try to offer it more time. If not, maybe you want to start learning something?
3. Try to sign up for some clubs. There is the meetup.com portal that you can use. Or maybe toastmasters could be an option.
4. You can get involved in some volunteering. Helping others always fills our lives. This can also be to become a listener on 7cups)
If you feel the need to talk as well please feel free to reach out to me )) Would be glad to be your listener. Cheers and hope any of this help ))
