I messed up big time
I met a guy online using someone else’s pictures aka catfishing we talked for 2 years and I never came clean about who I was (I feel tremendous guilt) he was married and I basically ruined a relationship/family. I developed romantic feelings for him and he also developed them for me. He recently found out and we ended everything obviously. I do know that what I did was unimaginably horrible and if I could take it all back I would. I feel as though I lost my best friend and most important person in my life all because of my stupid actions and I’m having some troubles getting over him and what I did.
It can be tough to get over anyone, especially someone that you built a bond with for such a long time. What do you think you can do to move on but to cope with all of this going on as well?
@quickwittedHuman5732. try to use real pictures of your self then using pictures that aren't your's you end up hurting people what you did was a bit cruel learn from this and try to move on,.

Your current guilt about the deception is understandable, however you were perfectly happy to keep it going for two years. Even when you were aware he was developing feelings for you, you didn't come clean. It might be useful to get some professional help (therapy or counseling) to explore why you did that. What made you insecure of being yourself even with your best friend and most important person in your life?
That being said, it wasn't you that ruined his family or marriage - that is on him. He had a commitment to keep which he chose to ignore. Why would he be indulging his romantic feelings with another woman if he intended to remain loyal in the first place. Of course, it might help his own guilt tremendously to put all the blame on you for the breakdown of his marriage instead of taking responsibility for the emotional affair. He had chosen to ruin the marriage long before he found out you were catfishing. Understandably, to then find out he did this over a catfish makes his situation much worse.
We are none of us perfect. Life is about learning from mistakes and making sure tomorrow is better than yesterday. I hope you are able to get the help you deserve to make better choices in the future. Good Luck!
