I'm stuck
Not sure what to do anymore. Should I give up? This guy and I have this huge on and off. Once we're on we're on but nowadays he takes off and leaves and won't contact me for days weeks maybe even months at a time. I try not to question it and ignore it but it's building up inside me and I can't take it anymore. I love him but I feel he's not trying to move forward with me. He doesn't like to talk about anything serious. We talked yesterday and when I didn't have the item he needed he stopped talking to me again. I want to know what to do and to say to him 'if' he comes back. I don't want to give up on us but I feel like I may have to.
@BeautifulCurls16 I can see your frustration when you tried to talk to your partner about something important and he left you halfway in the conversation. It is hard when you are not able to get your feelings and needs across. Have you try letting him know how serious it has gotten to be? What if you change the way you communicate with him? What if you write out your feelings and ask him to respond that way? If one mode of communcation doesn't work, perhaps another?
I hope you are able to find a way that works best for both of you.
@PacificSunrise recently I haven't. I worry that if I discuss my feelings he may get mad. We used to be very very close. Talk and see each other almost everyday. And even things about his past relationships that still haunted him he would talk to me about. But nowadays nothing. Now we only spend a few hours together. I figure if I maybe just say that...him leaving and me not getting a goodbye worries me and scares me. I know I have to word it in a way that he doesn't push me away. I do write down my thoughts and questions I have for him. The list goes on and on. But I guess I have to narrow it down to what I truly want to know and what will help US. It's so hard to talk to someone that just shuts me out. And I don't know why he keeps coming back to just leave again. I so badly wish that we were close and even closer to actually being in a relationship like we were. I just don't know how to tell him that.
@BeautifulCurls16 It seems you are very aware of what you need to communicate with him about like how you want to be able to feel close to him like you used to and that it's frustrating if he doesn't give his time to listen to your concerns. So you have questions and you know what you want and need from need. Now the question is how to get it to him so that he'll respond to you. Here are some articles that might give you tools to connect with him. I hope you find a breakthrough.
