Is he still holding on?

Me and my ex broke up 6 weeks ago now. Weve had little contact but I know we both still love each other. I know there is a huge chance we can reconcile and get past this.... At the time he told me he didnt want a relationship and he wanted to be alone.

During all of this he has not asked me once to come and collect my things from his house. Never mentioned it. However since then I have asked 3 times about me coming to collect my things from his house. He has told me 3 times he will let me know when he has a day off work but he never has. I have always initiated the conversation around this. Last Monday I told him Id be round Friday, he said okay Ill text you. Friday morning came and I text to ask if he was still off work. He replied saying he had been called into work for an early shift but he finishes at 5pm. So I said ok thats fine Ill come after. He said Ill see and let you know.

We havent spoken since then however I know that at the time I spoke to him on Friday he wasnt actually in work, I know hes had multiple days off work and once wed made a plan he then said he was working (even though he wasnt).

Does anyone have any idea why this is? He also doesnt know that I know hes been lying about his days off and being in work. I personally believe its because he does want to get back together and this is why he is holding onto my things.... Inthink he just needs some time and space.
