The only good thing that happens to me after my girlfriend and I broke up was that I got to love adventures. I am not an adventurous person because I am afraid of heights. I always throw up even with just a ferris wheel or roller coaster ride. The utmost heartache I got from my previous relationship made me stronger than I was before. Because of it, I got to try plunging, canyoneering, skydiving, mountaineering, skiing and many more-- name it! In order to move on, you got to face your fears too. That

@guthrey

Your story is all too familiar. Love is a force that is so strong and the most difficult to control. The same can be said for one's heart and mind. Logically, we know that being apart from someone is for the best, yet our feelings and emotions tell us the exact opposite. Keeping busy and occupying time is a proven method of healing, but it's important to allow yourself to be upset during the process and with each passing day it gets better. The feelings do fade. It may seems strange, but as we grieve the loss of the relationship it is easy to forget the reason for the split in the first place. Our hearts repel the negativity because we're hurting so much.

I am in a similar situation. I have an option to go away for an extended period of time. The prospect of leaving an area in order to make sure we aren't exposed to repeated heartbreak is a welcomed one. The fear of losing progress in our healing by simply seeing a person in passing is completely valid. If moving away will aid in your happiness then you're on the right track. It may seem like you're running away from something, but in reality you are taking care of yourself and that is a perfectly acceptable option because it is YOU that matters most. Much like jumping out of a plane, moving away will put you in a place of personal peace by knowing that place is only for you. It is a place where you are in control.

All the best.
