I still can't get over her.

I've tried and tried and tried. I swear I'm already trying my best and giving it my all. But I just can't seem to get over her. And logically speaking I know it's ridiculous. After all, she has already moved on and is happily attached. But her toxic control over me haunts me still, and it's really getting in the way of things. I've made matches with a good number of girls on dating apps but I don't even have much desire to talk to them and starting something new. I might have forgotten how to love. What's wrong with me?

I feel this. My ex hasn’t started dating someone but I keep waiting for him to come back and refusing to move on. Nothings wrong with you. You gave her your whole heart and it sounds like she couldn’t be bothered to do the same. I know how that feels. Like you put everything into someone who just didn’t feel as strongly about it as you did. The only thing that will help is time. Or so I keep hearing. Let yourself heal and be happy by yourself if you’re not comfortable giving someone else your heart. It sounds like she didn’t deserve it anyways. Take care 💕

Hey Emily, thanks for the kind words. They made me feel a lot better about my situation. I really hope that everything works out on your end too. Regardless, stay positive and upbeat! 🥰

@Stillbreathing26

This is my situation exactly too. We had been together, almost insperably, for over 5 years and then she dropped the bombshell on me out of nowhere. Only one month later, she's talking to a new guy and is now enamored with him. I think the little time that passed before she moved on to what is essentially the "upgrade" to me hurt more than the breakup itself. How could those 5 years have been so meaningless to her? How didn't I see it coming at all? Ugh, I've been struggling a lot with this the last few weeks for some reason, and it's already been about 5 months. I've been missing her more than usual lately.

Anyway, I just wanted to tell my story so that you know there's many of us out there experiencing the exact same pain. I think it helps to know you're not alone in these feelings. I just wish I could offer you some advice on getting over her, but if I had any, I'd be in a better place myself, heh. I guess time really is the main thing. Hopefully we'll both be able to get over this sooner rather than later.

Good luck, friend :)
