Losing a Soulmate

Hi guys. Has anyone ever either lost their soulmate, or realized who you THOUGHT was your soulmate wasn't? My ex and I broke up about a month and a half ago, and I didn't want to SAY I thought he was my soulmate, but our connection was something special to me. He's thinking of asking some other ex-girlfriend out again, so I guess I didn't mean as much to him as I thought I did. I need to give up on him changing his mind and coming back to me... because even if he does, it's not going to be any time soon.

I've been through this before, but I was in full-time therapy at the time through a day treatment program to treat my depression and anxiety, so I had complete and total support. Now I have to do this pretty much alone.

How do you move on from losing your soulmate?

Hi there! I'm someone who went through a hard breakup last year. I didn't believe in soulmates, but my ex always told me I was his. And somewhere along the line in the two years we went out, I believed him.

I still get terribly miserable more often than I'd like to admit.... to put it crudely, it sucks ass. But, even though I'm not even close to where I want to be, I know I'm doing better than a few months ago. Speed doesn't matter, progress is progress. So when I feel truly terrible, I look back and say "at least I don't feel like I did then"

People keep telling me that time heals, but it's more about what you do with that time. What you need is a change in lifestyle. I have a friend who is a recovering heroin addict and they told him the same thing. Change your routine. Separate yourself from your past through your lifestyle. After all, love is addicting. That means make new friends, or spend more time with old friends. Do more of what you're interested in, or make it our goal to find out what you're interested in. Have a goal that has nothing to do with relationships to work towards. Impress yourself. I went bungee jumping spontaneously and surprised myself... I'm a big fat coward 90% of the time.

You're going to go through highs as lows. Be nice to yourself during your lows, do the bare minimum, just get through the day so that you can hide in your car/ room /wherever and cry. Indulge yourself. But take advantage of your highs. Put yourself together when you feel okay, go out, clean your room, do a push-up. Catch up on homework/ work. Put yourself in a good place to get ready for your next low when you won't feel like doing anything again.

Oh and last bit of advice, if you're a girl with a monthly period, track your moods and when you cry. It'll be all the time at first, but If you notice that they are worse at a certain time of month, there's something comforting about that. Like your not THAT miserable because of the situation, your hormones are amplifying it a little.
