Hi, i am a college student. My ex and i started dating 3 years back ,we are in the same collegeand he broke up wirh me 3 weeks back. Recently i found out that he cheated on me with another girl in our class. I couldn't believe that he would do something like that to me. The day he broke up i begged him to stay ,he agreed at first but then left again. He broke up saying that we always fight a lot and he lost his feelings for me. But now he keeps telling my friend that he misses me and wants me back. I don't want to get together with this person again.i have to see both of them everyday which is very hard.

I am worried that i will not be able to trust anyone anymore. How do i know if it is the right person? I want to believe in love again. All these thoughts in my head makes it difficult for me to get out of bed. I overthink a lot. What do i do? I really need help, it's sooo hard.

I am really sorry about your breakup and that your partner cheated. Know that it says everything about them and nothing about you. You deserve so much better. I understand losing trust in people after this. Even though this is easier said than done, try to keep in mind that he wasn’t the right person for you and the right one would never cheat. Even though it’s tough it can help to have faith that you will find someone who will treat you the way you deserve while still guarding your heart. And unfortunately this will most likely to take time to get over, so if possible maybe try to do things that you enjoy to distract yourself from the pain, again easier said than done. Just know that you are not alone and deserve so much better than that relationship. Take care.

Also going through a fresh breakup. I’m so sorry that this happened to you. I’m also feeling like I never want to open up to anyone ever again. I know we will feel better with time. Time is the only thing that truly heals. I’ve been doing research on making sure I’m coping the right way. Like not repressing my emotions but also not letting them take over me. I’m thankful to my sister who has been pulling me out of bed everyday and I find the pain to be more bearable when I’m not dwelling on it all alone. Make sure to talk about how you’re feeling with trusted support and make sure you are doing things you love too. I think it’s all about the balance of acknowledging your pain but continuing on with life. You’ve got it.
