Love of my life left me (LDR)
It's been just over a month now since my ex (gives me shivers just saying "ex") of 2 years dumped me, and it hurts. As if what we had never existed to him any more.
We were that typical cliché sick-in-love couple. Adament that nothing will tear us apart. So content with each other, had planned the settling down, marriage, and having kids thing in our future.
About 6 months ago he got a dream job offer that would take him to the other side of the world. We talked and came to an agreement since we couldn't bare the thought of losing eachother that, we'd do the LDR until I finished school and I'd move over with him. Reassured e/o many times that despite the distance, our love would remain the same. But as the weeks/months went by, our Skype/calls/messages were becoming bitter and in the end we were arguing over little unnecessary things every day, simply out of frustration that we were miles apart. Eventually he told me he was too weak for the relationship. He ended it, and as much as I didn't want it, he'd already made up his mind and I had to respect his decision. We both broke down. Said our last sobbing goodbyes over a weak Skype connection and haven't talked since. It's the most loneliest feeling in the world.
I still love him dearly, and the "what ifs" still consume my thoughts now and again, but time is now my best friend and I believe that in time, things will get better, and this overwhelming pain will eventually fade.
