Maybe This Isn't It...
So I'm 20, my partner is 19, and we've been together for almost 4 years. We started dating in high school, and we are each other's only serious relationship to date. We started off being very serious, always talking about marriage and a long term future together. That worked great until we started living together in March. We are really different people, and at times I felt like they didn't care about me because I felt like they would prioritize hanging out with their friends. Living together became very draining, and as we both started to think more about working, we came to the mutual decision that it's best for us to live apart for now.
That was nearly a month ago. Since then, we haven't seen very much of each other at all. I feel like it's the same old thing of their friends taking priority over me. They hardly ever text me, and I'm just not picturing a future with them anymore. I think maybe we really are just different people, or at least, that's what we're growing into.
Basically, I'm having trouble deciding whether I should get out now, or stick around to see if things will get better.
