My next step... move on from 'The One'

July 1st, 2016

I met a woman who has loved me more genuinely and fully than I could have ever asked for. She was beyond understanding and supportive and helped me.through some very tough times. Early in the relationship I had my doubts on moving forward because I want to move away for Medical school and don't want her and her children to invest in me if things could fall aparr. We talked and I decided to stay with her and we would work through it since I didn't leave for another year and a half. Recently my sister and mother tried to commit suicide and I went through something called adjustment disorder and acted out of character, consumed by depression and anxiety and was paranoid, irritable, and rash. On a whim I ended the relationship when I had told myself I would marry her after she stood by me through my mothers hospital visit after her attempted suicide. I was not in my right mind, sleep deprived and recently lost 12 pounds. She took it very harsh and decided she did not want to work through it. I have since then begun therapy and medication to get help and can't decide if I should hold on to hope that she will see how much I care. These two instances are the only times we have fought, otherwise we literally got along like a dream. Should I move on so I can focus on myself and heal from all my recent trauma or be there for her? I want to give her support and show her I am working to improve myself and rectify my problems. She means the world to me.

This is a beautiful and painful post to read/ life experience to have. If I had any insight at all, I would gladly share it honey. But, I am not that astute regarding matters of the heart. My own are an utter disaster!

However, I very much wanted to make sure you know you are being heard by the 7 Cups community, even if we don't have any specific advice to give you. You are being heard and many of us feel for you deeply. I wish for you a positive, or at least liveable outcome to your romantic situation.
