Only wanting what you can't have
When my wife left me, I begged her, fought with her and utterly debased myself trying to make her stay. Now, months later, she's changed her mind, and I don't want her anymore.
I'm sorry to hear you're going through that. It sounds like you're venting rather than asking for advice, and it sounds like you know what you want to do, so instead of saying anything else I send a friendly, virtual hug your way. :)
This doesn't necessarily address OP because I can't say what the marriage was like before it ended, but on a similar note: I have spoke with a lot of people, and from my own experience, who find their romantic relationships are less exciting when they have been togetherfor a relatively long period of time. From what I gathered, it's the excitement of starting something new, hot, and passionate (and possibly the thrill of a challenge or the anticipation of earning a sexual reward). I can't say that I know of any fix to this mentality other than finding someone who truly fulfills you.Even then, at times, the "thrill" will feel missing but when you're with someone you truly love, just a second thought will dispel any doubt of something missing. Keeping a spark alive in any long-term relationship can be hard at times. No one says marriage is easy.
