I have been dating someone for 6 months. Recently he went through my phone and found a text between a co-worker and I ( all platonic) and said I lied or told a half truth because I didn’t tell him that me and this male co worker hug or text occasionally not even often. He has now broken up with me... am I in the wrong?

you didn't do anything wrong. Might be that your ex has some insecurity issues. Or something else. Anyway, if he bolts like this, and it not open for reason, then you might want to ask yourself whether he adds anything to your life.
