Recently divorced. Ex has moved on, I haven't.

Hi, everyone. My divorce was final 7 months ago and it is still killing me. Four years ago, I realized that I couldn't compete with the local bar and my ex's "celebrity" status there, so I did what any self-respecting (not) idiot would do. I ran off with the first man who didn't throw rocks at me. After a couple months, my ex asked me to come back.I did and we moved to another city. Things were going fine until his boss moved in with us and took up all my ex's time. We never had a moment alone to talk things out, and two years later when I was back in our home city to help my son, who was having problems, the ex called and told me I didn't need to come home. I was devastated and am to this day. I know what I did was wrong, but I had hoped we could reconcile. I did what I did out of sheer desperation. Not that that's any justification. Since then my ex has called me every day and says he wants to be friends, but he doesn't make time for me like he does for other people. I had been reduced to being a booty call and a last minute person to invite if someone else turned him down. I am still in love with him, but he has moved on and is enjoying himself. Why the hell does he call me every day? If all the men who don't want me called me every day, I'd have Eric Clapton on one arm and David Gilmour on the other lol!

7 Months is not long. Please be gentle with yourself. You are doing better than you think! You are looking at your current situation, trying to be honest with yourself, and move forward.

Don't use him as the standard by which you judge how YOU are doing. You can't really know, nor do you need to, whether he is moving on or not.

Also, it might be helpful to make a cup of tea, put on some soft music, and write down what moving on looks like to you. It's a really good starting place (and revisiting place!) for growing. :-) Positive prayerful thoughts to you.
