Red Signs/Stupid Me

Yesterday I broke up with my ex boyfriend. Even though I did the breaking up it hurts a lot. I feel like I am continuing making the same mistakes and picking the same guys. I broke up with him because he was insensitive, manipulative, rude, disrespectful, inconsiderate and took no accountability. I should feel Relieved but right now I don’t. I just feel lonely again. :-(

@FastYellow
I'm sorry to hear this. It may not feel like it at this moment but it sounds like you made a smart decision letting someone like this go. You deserve someone who treats you right and makes you happy. I think it's better to be alone than be with the wrong person. Just keep going, you will find the right person soon =).

@Hand4u I know your right. I just feel stupid, so many red signs I ignored again and now I feel upset. I’m exhausted from trying to find someone and in the end they are all the same.. which means there is something I’m doing wrong to attract these men. Just can’t stop crying.

@FastYellow
It seems like you are the type that always looks for the good in someone so you chose to ignore the red flags because in your mind you want to believe they are a good person. Please do not blame yourself. The right person will come along. Focused on you and how you want to better yourself. Sometimes the right person will show up when you are not expecting it. Give it time my friend, you will be fine =)

i am going through the same thing right now. i promise you, you are not alone. you did the right thing by leaving now, it could have gotten much worse than it already is and you might have saved yourself. these feelings will soon pass. give it time.

You deserve someone who will put you and your feelings first. If your instinct is telling you that that’s not what you where getting and it was time to walk maybe trusting yourself was the best decision you’ve ever made. I think the more that you trust that voice in your head or that gut feeling the more it will speak up and guide you. Only you know what’s right for you but remember to listen to yourself… feeling disrespected or unimportant is never the right answer and maybe part of you is fighting for your well being. Even if it’s hard. Even if you love them. If your heart is telling you to run from the person causing you pain maybe that voice deserves to be heard.

It saddens me that so many of us are going through the same thing. I have actually kept aog for 3 years of all our fights which are almost weekly. The hard part is that I do love him, just like you probably do too. It doesn't mean he doesn't have good qualities. It just means you had enough of the bad qualities. That's where I stand: very caring man, great to his son, funny, very verbal with doting on me. But he doesn't follow through, lies sometimes, doesn't have himself or his son help around the house...I could go on, but this is about you. I have to remind myself this has been going on for 3 years! Even when the good memories pop in my mind. It's not wrong to still feel hurt or guilty, but know you are doing this for your health and growth. Best of luck!
