Relationship
Well, I don't really have a story.. I haven't self harmed before.. But god do I sometimes wish I wasn't here? My relationships are a different story. I came here because i needed someone to speak to, me rambling on about how the boy I was with for 7 months said he loved me which he never. He left me for another girl, bare in mind this girl was the one that ruined our relationship, was "Best friends" with my boyfriend. I loved him and still do, it's been 3 months since he broke up with me, because people were interfering! I think I came across as too clingy, but you can't blame me for wanting to keep my relationship real? The thing that hurt me the most was, he promised me he loved me more.
Hello, I understand how much that can hurt. To put someone so high up in the sky then have them leave you so easily like it never meant anything at all. I've never been comfortable sharing or opening up with people, so I had considered myself very fortunate when I finally met the one person whom I could talk to about anything. It broke my heart when he left me during my hardest times for someone else. It's not easy (/impossible) to be completely happy by yourself, so I'm not going to tell you that you shouldn't need someone in your life to feel good. To some extent you must rely on other people and the difficulty is finding the right ones (we both know this already). But at the end of the day it's not worth spending so much time being upset about somebody who has already shown that they are not one of the right ones. Of course it's easier said than done (and I have the same problem so I'm being hypocritical when I tell you to move on). Really there is no sense in worrying about it, or to think that your future would have been better if he was still there. Your future is a huge array of possibilities and I'm sure you'll realise some good ones :).
I've been in a similar position where someone that I loved just told me he didn't love me anymore.
It's okay to have a time to be sad, but don't let it drag on for too long to the point where it's all you can think about all the time. Keep yourself busy.Figure out what you enjoy and do more of it like taking up new hobbies, hanging out with friends, etc. Be kind to yourself right now. Pamper yourself and do things that makes you happy. It's not the easiest thing to do, but it does get easier over time if you allow yourself to move on.
In my opinion, one should not be in contact with 'ex's they are that for a reason, how can you move on if you are in some way still 'involved' in each others life i.e. communicating. Use the No Contact it will be difficult, but it will prevent any more hurts on you and that is the focus. YOU.
Let go. What happened was for your greater good. If anything it shows that his words were false, because people who love you do not hurt you or act in ways you do. Love comes and goes. It is just an emotion and we feel many throughout our lives.
Your friend has no blame in this, it is he who has hurt you, he has chose this path. It would not matter to him if it was a friend or another girl on the street. It just mattered that it was over. Get them both of your life, heal you and focus on all you.
I disagree. I'm good friends with a couple of my exes, but that's due to a lot of factors such as: our friendship before we started dating, our break-up wasn't a betrayal -- we just weren't compatible, and we went through a period of no contact before we became friends again.
I don't think that exes shouldn't be a part of your life just because they're exes. They are still people, and they can still be your friends.
I do agree with anonymous in that going through a no contact period is a good idea.
If they broke your heart then it hard to be friends especially if you still have feelings or resentment towards them.
If it was a more casual relationship then for sure you can be friends with them as long as you know your boundaries and set expectations with each other.
