Rough Breakup
Hello, Im Tempest, and a few months ago I broke up with the one person in my life that genuinely made me feel good, feel happy, and with whom I was truly able to be myself after I found out he was cheating on me after more than two years together. Apparently hed been seeing another guy on the side for a month or two, not because we were even having trouble, but because he just wanted something new. Upon learning this, I had to force myself to break up with him despite still being super in love.
To set the scene a little bit, my ex was genuinely the only person I had in my life- I dont have any close friends, and my family members have been dead for quite a while, so loosing him was a huge hit emotionally. Plus, now he continues to text me mean stuff about how I should have been there for him more and realized what was going on sooner, and I have trouble meeting new people due to being quite shy/having rather severe social anxiety- especially other gay guys who Id be able to go out with. Last time, it was my ex who had initialized everything, which was a surprise in and of itself as Im not a very.... eh, conventionally attractive person due to some medical disabilities.
Anyways, thats whats going on with me right now... Any advice on how to move on? Because frankly, Im insanely lonely and depressed and nothing seems to matter right now.
Thank you for reading, and Im sorry of this sounded dramatic or dumb or anything. Have a good day/night, however you may be reading this.

Tempest314 I know what you are going through. My partner has left me recently and i dont seem to be able to move on. He was the one person that made me feel loved and safe and just made life worth living in general. I too dont have many friends but ones I have are quite supportive I just feel like Ive lost everything. Everyday is like facing this reality and sometimes I diet that this is what life looks now when at work etc and then I remember and I find myself feeling so overwhelmed I feel weak and dizzy never mind sad. You have been cheated on and you should never be made to feel that this has been in anyway your fault and this communication from your ex is really impacting on your self esteem and that must end. Saying this I am still so in love I probably would have forgiven my ex anything, and i know that this would be damaging me too but I just could not prevent myself. People say that time heals so far in my case its only been getting worse but I try to focus on things that make me feel better. You should stop allowing them to further damage your self esteem and focus on rebuilding that otherwise you may feel trapped in this situation for a long time
