Sad day
One year ago today, it was a Thursday that I won’t forget. I asked my husband not to do something to me that he knows I don’t like.. he storms out the house to go to work. When he came home he was still upset. We had words and he said to me that , I had until Sunday to decide if I wanted to be married or divorced.. He checked out on our marriage April 4, 2017, when I was let go from my job because of my migraines. He was angry that I could not work.. and told me, he treated me like crap on purpose because of it. He has been doing it since that day ,but I tried to make him happy.
Well, I left that night to stay at my daughter’s house hurt and crying. I’ve cried everyday since. He immediately went on dating Apps and dates during the separation. He even got a girlfriend 3 months into the separation. He didn’t try and work it out with me at all. He even moved on the street behind me so that I would be forced to see him and her weekly.
It’s been hard to heal and move on. This isn’t what I asked for after giving him 27years all the love I had in me.
We are now divorced and he’s moved on happily and I am stuck on sad…
I was so glad your story ended in divorce and not you still being stuck. You may feel stuck in the pain, but the hard part is over, the deciding to divorce. It’s only new beginnings from here. You are strong and can do this. I recommend the book Codependent No More by Melody Beattie.
