I’ve been dating my SO for about a year. Lately all I seem to do is point out the things that bother me about the relationship. I think I’m out of that honeymoon phase and the red flags that I overlooked because I was getting the attention of a relationship are showing up. He’s really in love with me and talks about a future all the time. As of right now, it’s hard for me to imagine a future with him where I’d be happy if this continues. I don’t want to change him, but feel like I’d have to in order to be happy. Maybe I thought I could “fix” him, but I’m realizing I can’t change him. I just can’t help but wonder if there’s someone out there that would treat me better, because right now I feel like I have to ask for the bare minimum. I just don’t know how to tell him or bring it up.

Asking him to change when he is not doing wrong is selfish. Have you thought about your needs? What do you want it of your partner? If you can't appreciate all the small good things he does for you then you don't love him. Has he hurt you some way? If not then you needs to think to yourself on why you feel that way. Remember that he is giving time to you as well, something that we can't ever get back.
