Starting over?
Together for 7 years, and engaged for almost a year. He kept saying that he was a "slow mover" and that he was afraid to get married because his parents had a turbulent marriage when he was growing up. We live in two separate countries but only an hour away, divided by the border. Over covid, it's been hard to see each other. I spent two months there over the summer. During my visit, l asked that he decide on when he thought he would see us get married and start a life. (Timeline) We cannot live together because we are in separate countries It is a topic l brought up alot because in year 7 of being together, l felt like l was living in limbo. He said that he would talk to a counselor, which l was encouraging. He came to me a few weeks ago after talking to a counselor and said that he felt like we were more like best friends then intimate partners. Along with a few other issues that l had no idea about that he was hurt about. I have always been the supportive partner and this hurts deeply because l gave with my whole heart and soul into this relationship. We met at the border park last week and he said that he needed more space after a week of silence from him. But can tell that he is withdrawing from me. I gave this relationship everything. How can someone not see the value of making it work. Why didn't he say anything during our relationship that we could have worked out together. I feel that no one values longevity in a relationship anymore.
