Starting over

I’ve been with my husband for 10 years. A little over 2 weeks ago I discovered text messages on his phone. He denied, denied, denied. Promised me that he wasn’t talking to them any more. This week he was arrested for stealing from his job. He potentially faces a very large conviction. He admitted to cheating for awhile but will not give me any more information. He grew up in a very dysfunctional and chaotic environment. I’ve spent most of our relationship thinking that I can “fix” him. I’ve thought that I was the issue. I’ve been manipulated to see his reality. But I still love him. I’m struggling to let him go but I no longer feel like I’m married. I feel like I saw this coming and was already preparing… maybe subconsciously. We are currently sleeping in separate rooms but still living together. I need him to get help. I believe that he is bipolar and seeking the affection he needed from him family in other women. I want to be there as a friend. A support system but I can not be his wife right now. I’m struggling with this because I don’t want to give in and allow him to continue to lie and manipulate. I don’t want to waste my time but I don’t want to abandon him either. Is it time to move on or ok to hold on just a little longer with boundaries that i establish? I’m hurt, mad, embarrassed. I want to leave but also want to make sure he isn’t alone.

Time to move on. Any time someone can't respect you and your boundaries they don't deserve your effort and time. You've got this! Take this chance to move on and find happiness again. Take this time to find yourself again and start new hobbies.

Thank you for your input! With that… what’s your thought on living together while separated? We agreed that we can’t be together right now as husband and wife but because of so many unknowns living together is the best option right now. So we are living separate lives just under the same roof. We’ve agreed to not date in the house and be honest if or when we decide to date again. I’m only worried that it will set me up to fail. I do love him but I can’t let him get away with the way he has been treating me.
