Struggling to know what to do

I feel so lost and confused. My partner and i have been together about a year and a half now, i love him to bits, but we're just constantly fighting at the moment. Having to be in lockdown has put a huge toll on our relationship. During the first lockdown we lived together, but it got so intense that we decided to take a step back and i moved out, we're both single person households so we spend a fair amount of time together. But he has gotten such a short temper, i feel at times it's anything i do he'll take it wrong and will get mad at me for it. But on the flip side when he's in a good mood he's all loving and we can talk about the problems and he can see and accept when he does something wrong.

Ive researched a lot lately about relationship struggles, a lot of people say there's 3 stages - the honeymoon stage, the power struggle, and then mature love. We are definitely in power struggle, and i'm doing what i can do to move us forward and out of this, but with little cooperation most of the time. I'm worried he doesn't love me, he already has basically said he can't be bothered with me and with a relationship like ours. But i don't want it to be over. Am i being foolish? I feel lost, and i don't know what to do anymore. My heart is breaking

You're not alone. I'm dealing with something very similar. Couples therapy has really helped. Our therapist required us to come 3x individually before we started as a couple. It really helped for a while. We've hit a snag again and got recommended to go back to individual for a couple more weeks. I'm not as hopeless anymore but I know even if it doesn't work out I will be a stronger and better person from this and will feel some sort of closure knowing I tried.

@yabbs2512 ive suggested couples therapy to him but he seems adamantly against it, which kind of hurts- won't try something just for my sake that might help the relationship. Did you have to convince your partner into it at all?

I did not. My ex husband refused and well I guess that's why he is an ex husband. My boyfriend came from a family that promoted therapy and his mother was a couples counselor for years. It was thr norm for him. I think him refusing it for you is a normal reaction. Maybe a good calm sit down talk is what he needs. Hey I want this to work. I want us to work and be happy. I think we are good at some things but we could use some help with others. This world had been hard on everybody for a year now and I think we could use some tips to navigate it. Would you consider it for me? It's important to me.
