Text my ex?
Well little context, I broke up with him a few months ago due to his wrong doings (there’s been lots throughout but this was my last straw because my mental health couldn’t take it anymore).
About 2 weeks after the break up we called and basically argued a little more than I said everything I wish I got the chance to when he put me into the list situation (all i could do was cry and begging him to stop and listen to what i was trying to say).
Well he’d been stalking my social media so I blocked him one 1 but left him on the other where he decided to add himself onto my more private story which I would post on a lot. I didn’t see how that was helpful after a break up but let him carry on because I wasn’t readily communicating with him and i wasn’t looking at any of his posts. He even congratulated me for something about 3 weeks ago but while trying to look for a number i’d sent him i try search his name but i realise he blocked me. Which is fine and i didn’t take it personally at all, but found it odd because he seemed chill with me and was going out of his way to still keep tabs on me.
Anyways, i still see that he congratulated me for something so i see we’re not in a foul mood, but getting blocked really late after the break up after that makes me question if i should message him happy birthday? It’s a nice thing to do and also i do wanna show i still care and haven’t left him in a gutter the same way he did when telling me congrats but would that be appropriate?
There's no harm in being nice and civil with someone from your past, even if they've been toxic in your life. The only reason to not wish a happy birthday is if you feel that would be inviting or encouraging him to think he can re-enter your life and cause more hectic emotional stress.
I agree that there is nothing wrong with giving birthday wishes to someone who belongs to your past, but if this person has blocked you he will have had his reasons, which are unknown to you, but the fact remains that, basically, a person who blocks you does not want to talk to you. An alternative might be to give him some more time, but it's up to you to decide; you know the situation better than anyone.
