@Helping2findAway

Relationships are challenging and good relationships require effort and the willingness to make it work. Relationships that seem easy are shallow and are more likely to fall apart. With that said, you can't make a relationship work all by yourself. The other person has to try and it has to be a sincere effort. The reality is that every relationship is an unhappy one at some point. Choosing to stay in an unhappy relationship should mean willing to work on it, not giving up on it, because giving up is when break ups happen.

@ShadesBluer... i do love your points and i don't disagree in anyways.

But like you said the other person must be willing to work on it, but what if they don't and you are the only that keeps trying, is it not time to stop trying because this can have an emotional effect on the partner who's trying ?

@Helping2findAway

Both people need to try for a relationship to work. If you feel like the one in the relationship who's trying and that your partner isn't, you should ask them if they still want to be in a relationship and if so, explain your frustrations with how you feel like you're alone in making the relationship work. But it's time to stop trying when one or both people stop talking, stop communicating, and seem to just be waiting for things to fall apart. Hope that helps. :)

I totally agree with this. Being in a difficult relationship is like a never ending storm. At least during a break up the strom comes and then passes.

@Helping2findAway YES. PREACH. I knew this all along, not sure why we put ourselves through the pain of staying, when we know deep down it's not going to work...
