Too anxious to end it.

April 25th, 2016

Helloo, this is my first thread so sorry if I don't make much sense.

Here goes. I've been with this man for over three years, during the whole of these three years I have suffered severe anxiety and depression issues where he has been unbelievably supportive and I could not be more grateful. We did have our own house, lovely things and both has very good jobs until I has yet another break down, I lost my job, we lost our house, and he then changed jobs into a hygiene job(this killed me as I cannot go near him in fear he beings back diseases.)

Since my last break down our relationship became very bitter. We both moved into my mums house and to be frank I can't stand him near me. He knows of my phobias of germs and illness but is not as careful as even his job requires when working, let alone for his own safety. He brings home waste, both chemical and bio waste, to dispose of the next day instead of disposing of it on his way home etc which drives my anxiety through the roof.

Aside from this we argue, daily. Sometimes Iver the smallest things like not putting the toilet seat down or something pathetic. He no longer supports me either, and often swears at me when I ask for him to help me when having a panic attack or shouts at me for being silly when I'm scared to go near him after he's been in a hospital.

I won't deny we have good days, and some great times still but the majority of the time it's bitter. I also get very depressed and like to be alone. What do I do??

@xilvey

I'm so sorry to read how difficult your relationship is for you right now. Hugs ❤️❤️

From what you've written I wonder if you're reflecting back onto the early days of your relationship, and still feeling you owe him a debt of gratitude for how supportive he was at that time. You don't. Relationships aren't just about what happened in the past. The current is so important, and it seems you know that this man is no longer demonstrating the respect and care he once showed to you.

Relationship counselling may help you to see if it can be salvaged, but it's something you both have to be committed to.

But be aware, however hard it feels now, staying in a toxic relationship will just get harder and harder, and your self esteem will sink lower and lower. You've done nothing to merit the disrespect you're currently being shown. You deserve better. Be brave, and put your needs first.
